Dave is correct. I do not know anything about the military trucks or fording, but the WDX-WM300 civilian Power-Wagon was designed to be used hard and slow, and/or as a stationary power plant. The Donaldson valve in the line between the crankcase and intake manifold drew vapors and moisture from the crankcase. This was replaced with fresh filtered air from the air cleaner via the line from the oil fill tube to above the throttle plate in the carburetor. A road draft tube and filtered oil filler cap on a Power-Wagon only works when the truck is traveling at road speed. The engineers at Dodge were less concerned about fording in a civilian truck/tractor/portable power plant.
