Once you have all the connections done, use some dielectic grease to coat the terminals. You should be able to find some at your local auto supply. I have a bottle from Permatex that will last the rest of my lifetime. Small tubes are also available. I can't say about Perko, but I know that Blue Sea has rear covers to protect them from accidental contact with the current carrying conductors if they are exposed. All my switches are flush mounted with cables concealed in the panel enclosure.
