Hmmm have you ever put an amp clamp on the positive motor lead while loading the winch?? I know my 8274 would read roughly 400a in locked rotor condition. What little info I've seen on this winch (internet forums, etc, nothing official) indicates that 440-460a would not be out of the question in a locked rotor condition for this particular unit. So when your pulling with yours, the needle doesn't move at all? or it drags it down, but the system recovers quickly?? If you had say a good long 20 plus foot pull, dragging the truck out of a steep ravine lets say, where the winch would be loaded down pretty good. Would your charging system keep the needle inside the bracket on the charge gauge?? I'm assuming you have a stock charging system and battery??

Thanks

Dylan
