The gaps are kind of big in that trans. In fact the NV5600 is the same gear ratios, just with an extra gear in the middle to help with that big gap between 3 and 4.
The shorter RPM range of the 4BT in my truck makes it pretty noticeable. Doesn't help that I have the early Chevy version with a low range, so I loose a gear in everyday driving.
