I have 40 inch tires, 4.88s and the 105 hp engine and the truck will run at 60 mph at around 1900 rpm. Fast enough for me.

Some Ford chassis will fit under the Carryall body and blend right in. The width of the frame is better than the newer Dodge truck frames, better front axle too.

the advantage of going this route is it gives you a high pinion Dana with locking hubs, all the plumbing is done, and your suspension is pretty much left alone too. Shorten the frame, but have the front axle end up about 1.5 inches further forward than stock.
Done right 99.999% of folks would never know and you would save yourself about 2.5 years of modifications to the original frame. Moving the axle forward makes the bigger tire fill the fender arch better.
