Yea, none of the ones I had (even the name brand ones) have ever had enough magnetic power.
This one uses AA batteries, and I just use a set of rechargable ones I use in the shop for the radi head phones and head light lamp.
I will say the headlight lamp never seems to be pointing the directin I need when ever I use it, and I always end up cranking my neck in an odd fashio to get the light wher eI want, and then I can't see as I'm no longer looking through the bi-focals.
