I have to disagree about the "candy coating". Although a great number of parts are shared between the civi FFPW and the M37, I would argue that there is considerable differences affecting the market values. market value is driven more by emotional reasons than practical reasons. Most folks if polled, would say they find the classic ffpw a better looking truck. Its the same with cars- more people find a hard top more appealing than a station wagon. That said, the M37 with a soft top is is not so appealing to those people in northern climates. The box is smaller but on the other hand the ride is smoother I have heard for the M37. The 24 volt system is not practical for the civilian world when one need to jump start. Two batteries and 24 volt electrical parts incur more cost. Besides a lot of people are not turned on by olive drab.
