Why do those look funny to me?

I've got a bunch of M37 and 3/4 ton WC drums laying around, and they look much more conical in shape. Clint's drums look more cylindrical in shape between the wheel mounting surface and the part of the drum with the braking surface. Is that an illusion, or is my memory playing tricks on me?
