Massachusetts is by far the worst state for truck titles, Here Trucks have been titled since the teens, so no title no go unless you can track down a previous owner who had it registered at one time and still has a copy of that registration.
On top of that get this, I just applied for 2 titles for a couple WC-12's I have, even though I had titles, 1 PA and 1 MA that had some wrong writing on it, I was still given a hard time and had to get notarized papers and copies of death certificates, executor paperwork and so on.

In MA now you need to pay sales tax, 6.25%, on the NADA value of your vehicle, regardless of what you paid or what it is worth, The PA truck was a basket case I bought for the title and a good bed, BOTH of these trucks have an NADA value of $5000. so that is what I had to pay sales tax on for each truck, on top of that, the MA title was dated as being sold in 2010, so I had to pay an additional $270.+ as a penalty for not paying the sales tax when it was sold. I left the registry after 3 trips and paying over $900. for 2 titles.
OH Well, I have them now and that is what counts.
