Does it have one of those fuel heater assembly deals with the screen? My uncles '98 12V was dropping power last time I used it, tore the whole damn fuel system apart then started pressurizing individual components with air and finally narrowed it down to the seal around the electrical wiring. Bypassed the whole mess and went straight from the pump to the filter housing, no problems since.....even using a piece of cheap chinese air hose as a fuel line....I've checked it several times since the problem and it's still holding up well!!
My vote is for air making it's way in somewhere. Did the motor seem to "knock" more than normal?
