Because you want thin. $12 for a toothpaste tube. I use it on my guns- if it turns, oil it. If it slides, grease it. And 10-30 motor oil, because I know it has stuff in it, and I don't know about "Gun Oil". And I know that Breakfree gums up, that is the 'P' in CLP- preservative.
