Can you list references that document the chemical differences between bias ply and radial tire compositions? The NTSB report seems to hint that radial tire manufactures are generally reluctant to use the proper chemicals, or proper quantities thereof, that would help alleviate time related problems. They do not differentiate between the chemical compositions of bias ply vs. radial.

Google Shearography if you are not familiar with the testing method. Also reading up on Bandag is worth the effort. In their ReatreadInstead. pdf document, they publicly do not advocate the "use by" date or age limit. They also report that BASys Manufacturing computer software data showed that Michelin casings lead to more NRTs
than other major brands recorded from 2,677,746 data samples from between June 2009 and November 2010.
