went thru some of my old michelin Tech Books
1973 books only show the 9.00 & 11.00 16s made in the XS (Sahara) types (looks like the XL) but no XL tires in those sizes
I have the German and US truck tech books
some where I have a French listing of tires but did not look for it yet
before 2000 tires with the DOT code had the
3 digit week and year only so a tire made in the 21st week of 74 84 and 94 all had the same production code
