Can't help you on why the dealers order so many automatic trucks, maybe it's because they really are totally clueless. Of the three, the Cummins consistently gives the best mileage. The Duramax is made in Moraine, OH (in a brand new purpose built factory) it is a joint venture between GM and Isuzu. I can't really comment on this engine, but I hear that it goes like stink empty. I suppose the Navistar is a decent engine, but I can't get over that sickly exhaust cackle. With that said, the Ford is a nice truck offering a true crew cab, front leaf spring suspension and manual hubs. I bought a Dodge mainly because of the Cummins, and it still makes me smile when I crank it over.
