V-8, automatic tansmission, disc front brakes, Swampers, and some other things that would have made me feel better about driving along the DMZ after curfew. This was in the early 60's in the wake of several incidents where North Korean soldiers had conducted penetrations into the area. I was in civilian clothes.
I also was assigned an original series Ford M-151. It was fast and safe if you knew how to drive it. I used it for my late night rides.
My second tour in 1970 exposed me to the M-715. That made me really long for the M-37 - even one that was stock.
