One of the most common vehicles on the road down here in Texas is a '94 -'02, one-ton Dodge dually pickup. If I wanted to be a bank robber, I'd have a white one of these to make it hard for the cops to spot.

My son is the two-wheel-drive truck guy in the family. His 1954 C-1-D6 with the 126" wheelbase and the nine-foot bed is a one-ton Dodge dually pickup that is not common. In fact, it is pretty rare.

We don't know what this uncommon truck is worth and that's okay because my son has no interest in selling it. We do appreciate anything that reduces the number of remaining similar trucks since the more rare the truck, the higher its collector value. The same goes for my uncut Command Car.

You did not identify the truck for which you are trying modify the nine-foot bed "into a box that looks the part." A reproduction WDX box is promised soon.

The nine-foot bed you plan to remove from this world may also fit some W-300's.

Some thoughts:

Original parts are a better investment than the stock market.

Plasma cutters and mig welders were put on this earth for a reason. That reason is not to expedite extinction.

It's yours to do with as you please. If you make another truck worth more in the process, both parties come out ahead.
