My new m-37 does not have the original engine. Seller said it was a 251, but...? The number is -118-99719 (top front left side plate). Another number is cast into the block (bottom rear left side) between starter and dist. 870729-1.
If you know what engine this is would you also tell me what the flywheel and starter gear teeth count should be? I'm trying to fix or replace the starter so it doesn't grind away at the ring gear.
