I have a '78 Dodge Powerwagon 360 Auto with EXACTLY
the same problem, I'm ALSO running an Edelbrock 600
4 bbl. The only thing you didn't mention is if your
still running the mechanical fuel pump or if you have
switched to an electric? This last monday, I went
to AutoZone and picked up a new electric fuel
pump rated at 5.5-9.0 psi($29.95). So far it has worked
great. It's only been two days, but the problem
seems to be GONE! I'll probably install an adustable
regulator to be sure I don't overpressure the carb.

BTW, I was running a 6 mo old Checker pump (rectangular
shape), the new autozone one is more of a cylinder,
just so you know, and kicks butt over the other pump.

Please let us know what happens,
Hope this helps!
