I'm doing it on the Ford truck seen on the Ford Diesel Website "Features" section. With a very important difference: hydraulics. The ultimate, which I haven't seen the need for yet, is electro-hydraulic contols instead of manual valves. I have one hydraulic pump off the pto which goes to a divider ("either/or") valve. Each winch then runs off a spool valve mounted near the winch. If you plan to install 4 or 5 engine powered devices, then direct pto becomes impossible and hydraulics is the only solution.
My M37 has a hydraulic Braden winch and I'm very happy with it. I've already used it several times "in anger".
