Yes, Denatured Alcohol will work. Wood Alcohol will work also, but it tends to remove more lacquer and varnish than Ethyl or Grain Alcohol. Denatured (Ethyl) alcohol is the active ingredient for most of the Gas anti ice chemicals available at auto supply stores. Rubbing Alcohol (isopropal) does not work as well and is usually found in 70% solutions (already is 30% water.) The sponge trick is interesting, but it is hard to get into your carb float bowl.
