Having bled brales for many years, there is one method I have used that works well. Especially on units such as older vehicles that have masters lower than the wheel cyls.
Vacuum... Hook a vacuum pump on the bleeder nipple. Don't have a vacuum pump? Use the truck engine or another "host"vehicle... Hook a hose to the intake manifold and let the engine idle. It's amazing how 10 or more inches of vacuum will help draw fluid. the host engine will not object to a slight ingestion of brake fluid. Smells a bit though!! Works great.
