(1) You plan your road trips so that:
(a) You can hit that good junk yard you
saw or heard about a while back.
(b) You can drive past other power wagons
that you have seen before, just so you
can see if they are still there.
(2) All your scrap books are filled with pictures
of old Dodges or other old trucks that you
have taken for "reference" pictures.
(3) There are 3 years of back issues of the PWA,
MVPA publications, ATHS magazines, etc in the
reading bin in the bathroom.
(4) You have a growing stockpile of miscellaneous
worn, but not quite worn out Dodge parts in
your garage, storage sheds,etc. that you don't
dare throw away. These include pitted bearings
and races, spacer shims for steering knuckles,
bronze bushings of all shapes and descriptions,
gears from front ends, rear ends, transmission,
transfer cases, sections of running boards,
-the list goes on.
(5) Your Mastercard/Visa bill is approaching the
size of the national debt-and most of the
transactions are with a certain business in
S.E. Iowa.
(6) You or your wife can pick out that particular
curve of a front fender, in a tree row a half
mile off, while driving down the highway at
65 mph.
(7) You also spend a lot of time turning around
in the middle of the road and going back. (See
#6 above)
(8) The guys at NAPA have learned what a Power
Wagon is- finally.
(9) You have the most extensive Dodge Power Wagon
literature/ manual collection in a 100 mile
radius.
(10) You tell your wife that it is not worth the
gas money to drive into town and pick up a
gallon of milk, but you will hop in your
pickup and drive 500 miles to look at a box
that might be right for your truck.
