I am the one who wrote the article for MVM. Yes Tim Peterson also recomended the add a leaf but I had several old spring packs. I had my springs rearched and added the leaves as per the article, but I also have a Herc diesel with winch so had a lot more eight up front than original. Now two years later they are doing fine. I have been very satisfied with the ride quality, same as original. By the way the price also include rebushing the eye ends, dis and reassembly and manufacture of longer spring clips to accomidate the extra leaves and disassembly of an extra pack to pull out replacement leaves (several of the original leaves were cracked. I thought the price very reasonable. The work was done at a suspension truck shop in Charlotte that works on 18 wheelers. I brought my spring packs home and swapped them out with the old one myself. Hope this helps. If I had to do it over again I would do it the same way.
