It sounds like your 1/2 WC got a wheel transplant somewhere along the line from the 3/4 ton early WW2 trucks. The 1/2 tons didn't have a combat type wheel available, rather a commercial Budd issue for the 7:50X16 tire. There is no real problem using the 9:00X16 wheel/tire combo on your truck, and the torque on the ring bolts is that for any comparable-szed bolt. I have set them at 80 ft/lbs with no trouble. A 7:50X16 tire will be a little prone to wear on the wider combat wheel, so I advise staying with the 9:00. The wheel offset is a little different, and you cannot "dual up" the combat wheels like you can the stock ones for the 1/2 ton. I always found the 1/2 ton with its' factory 4.88:1 gears and 9:00X16's a good setup for getting somewhere promptly! dg
