THE stubby thing you see is the oil pump. on my 52 m37 the speedo cable is near the top of the transfer. tight fit for cable that close to the floor. the cable will screw on to the male thread you should find there. call A.B.Linn for cable.704-637-9076. about $40.00. good deal.
if you are not concerned about original J.C.WHITNEY has heaters that you can adapt inside.
