Is it a truck or car motor? The truck motors had longer lasting more durable parts like moly rings and better bearings, and the h.d. 318's had exh. valve rotators and hyd. tappets. A good car poly 318 should go for $100+/-, and maybe $150 for a truck motor. They are still fairly common, I've seen a couple of vendors with factory crate short blocks for $300, and new heads for $250/pair. Good Luck,
