In Jerrys article He says to change the amp meter wires. It was not stated but the reason for doing this would be because you have now changed from a Postive grounded system to a Negative grounded system. Which has become the standard since the late 50's. The Wires on the COIL need to be changed also. If not the engine will still run and you may not even notice a difference, But if the coil wire are not changed the Spark will be jumping from the spark plug tang to the center electrode, instead of the electrode to tang. This can cause the engine to be hard starting.
