I mostly agree. By far the sub is more stable, but it is also my DD and even with fuel being relatively low, i drive over 40 miles/day so the improvement in economy alone will pay for the swap. That, and I have already upgraded the transmission and VP44 pump. I used to have a crew cab 3500 chevy with the 6.5 diesel. It was very reliable once I upgraded the fuel system a bit and moved the PMD, but the fuel economy was bad. Id see 12mpg avg running empty with an occasional 16 if we did 55 on the back roads, and as low at 6 towing. Even with the cummins in my truck doing 14-15mpg with mixed driving, it is a huge difference in the monthly fuel bill compared to the old 6.5. That being said, I sometimes miss the 6.5, it was better off the line with a load and I really liked the sound of that old idi.
