I know diesel won't vaporize like gasoline, but if the tank is full to the top, and you suck a lot of fuel out, and the tank cap is sealed, can it still suck fule when there is a vacuum in the tank? Gas would vaporise in the tank to relieve the vaccuum.

So, is your cap vented? Was the tank full up?
