I wonder about the prices too. It's a different world over there, though. Some years ago the Wall Street Journal listed San Juan Island as one of the best places for CEOs to retire to. It's especially big with the yachting crowd. This truck appears to be in exceptionally good condition. Given that one in average condition would probably set you back $5K these days, and that it would be easy to spend $8K on body work and tracking down small missing parts, the asking price is in the range of reason for a guy who intends to do a complete restoration.
I have to wonder about the "no rust" claim. It looks good in the photos, but after 60 years on islands surrounded by salt water, rust is inevitable. And why is it out in the rain when he's taking the pictures of it? If it was on Shaw Island for a time, it belonged to the nuns, because the whole island is a convent. Maybe somebody donated it to the convent when it was new and the sisters kept it indoors and rarely drove it anywhere. It would be interesting to know the real story in any case.
