With all due respect mannyc, I beg to differ. There are "Purists" like yourself and there are folks that go from slightly modified like my truck is, to trucks like Kevin's and beyond. What does "Collectable" really mean. It can mean different things to different people. Bottom line is that there is only one way that prices are going to go for these trucks weather basket cases or fully restored, and that way is up. Further let's not forget that overall, the 1/2 ton and for that matter, most military surplus trucks have seen more use in civilian hands than they ever did in military hands. Stars and Bars, OD Paint, Registration numbers and such are fine but, not everyone is into that type of restoration. If you had John Q. Public compare this 1/2 ton on E-bay side by side with a fully restored "Purist" 1/2 ton, IMHO, it would be a 50/50 proposition as to which one they preferred. Just my opinion, and as they say, opinions are like A..H...., we all have one. LOL.
