I've had this whole area apart and together a number of times and worked out how they did it. They spot welded the 'seal' to the rear cab roof section, then they spot welded that assembly to the front panel.

The slight problem was that although the welder's up to welding the double thickness of the seal to the rear roof - three thicknesses of metal, remember, when it come to the final attachment to the front panel, where it had to go through four thicknesses - it made a lousy job of it, the source of many of our cab roof problems I'm sure.

On one roof seam only about 2/3rd of the final welds had taken, and one side was only held by a couple of small spots.
