Double Roof Seam?

Well, what the heck? The welder was filling in the roof seam, and in the process discovered there was a second seam about a quarter inch behind the first one. This is the seam that joins the windshield/cowl to the cab roof. He is now removing some body filler that was laid over the hidden seam, and filling that one in too. What in the world? Anyone see this before?
