Looking for a midwest PW loving farmer or someone who likes ugly PW for a PW rescue mission!!
I came across this PW last year when in Oklahoma to by a WW2 Chevy truck. When the seller found I was mainly interested in WW2 Dodges he took me to a near neighbor farmer who had a Dodge truck in his lot. Since it was a PW I was not interested but got the telephone number of the owner which I later misplaced. I was in Tulsa this last week for a auction of some guy 50 years collection which had some Dodge trucks. As it turns out there was nothing I was interested in but since I had a empty goose neck trailer I decided to go see if I could find this PW again. After a couple false starts I found it just before sunset. The farmer was just leaving so I reintroduced myself and asked if he could give me the owners telephone number again who is the farmers brother. When I got back to the main roads after dark I gave the owner a call. He was interested in selling it. He thought he had a title. I asked him how much he wanted for it and didn't really give me an answer so to get the conversation started I told him I had $2000 cash with me. Then he told me that another brother was part owner and would have to discuss it with him. That indicated I wouldn't be able to go back the next morning and load it up so I asked his permission to posted the information on this forum with photos but not his name or number. If anyone is interested email me at vc40wc41 at yahoo dot com. The truck is in northern Oklahoma. It has a large grain hopper on the back with an auger system that was used to fill cattle feed bunks. Initially I thought cut that ugly contraption off the back and you would probably have a nice PW with probably low miles since it has set for many years seeing how it has sunk into the dirt up to nearly it hubs. But really this truck should be saved the way it is since from a historical point of view it shows the versatility of the PW which has made it legendary. We know of other PW work truck such as firetrucks, tow trucks, telephone maintenance trucks, ambulances, and the ones with the rear pto pulley. How many agricultural specific PW trucks have you seen. The hopper is really in good shape with just surface rust. With a new battery, fresh gas and some pixie dust from Vintage Power Wagon, I suspect this truck would be ready and eager to go back to work. Hope the link will work to the photos.
