To finish my thought: what about foam spray over the rubberized coating? Won't the rubber surface keep the foam away from the metal enough to stop any rust concerns?
I am talking about a truck who's entire inside was sandblasted clean and red oxide primer applied first. Then the rubber undercoating then the foam. I would suspect no rust should form but heck I don't know that's why I am posting this
