Usually loaded with programs, and dumped by somebody that wants the latest and greatest. Maybe 3-4 years old. Usually needs more memory for about $20. Not considered bootlogged programs either, since you have the original in the machine. Sometimes I need to google how to hack the pass word, but it has been doable so far. Upgrade before you older one lets out it's magic smoke. Then keep the old one as a back up until you trade up again in a few years.
And dead LCD monitors can usually be fixed by soldering in a few capacitors. The kit from eBay is only $5.
Knee is bad, can't work on PWs lately, but I do have a Vista machine w/ 24" monitor. $27.50.
