the brakes were in need of some attention on the 68 w100. what we found was the fluid was dark brown and had a brown wax type build up in the wheel cylinders and the bottom of master cylinder. the clutch slave has the same condition as well. I have owned this truck for 20 plus years. the last brake and clutch service was done buy me years ago. I don't know what brand or DOT number fluid I might have used. anyone ever see this? what may have caused this? brake cleaner dissolves the waxy stuff easily. the brake components have since been replaced ,the clutch cylinders are next.
