Scott. Are you sure it's an MU2? Some of the W300s came with MU winches, but the mounting brackets are not sloped like the PW specific MU2.
Or it could be some thing like what my truck has. The pto on the transmission drives another double pto behind the transfer case. From the second pto there is an longer shaft that drives the front winch. It also drove a rear winch which I removed.
Since it wasn't mounted, probably only the guy you bought it from or who had it before him could tell you for sure.
Sorry this isn't a better picture. It's just a speculation of a possibility.
