Hi All,
I have an overdrive tranny from a 57 D100 that I am leaning towards installing in my 57 W100. I bought it about 5 years ago from a wrecking yard in Washington State. I also asked that they send me everything to do with linkages etc.
I dug everything out a few days ago and started scoping the project out. The unit is a direct bolt onto the bellhousing, the input shaft works and is the correct length, all good there. The throwout bearing is smaller, but that is also no problem. I still need to check the shortening of the driveshaft, and make sure I have the room back there, but I am pretty sure that will also be fine.
The W100 tranny has the transfre case lever bracket mounted right to the tranny, theOD tranny obvoiusly does not. I will need to fabricate a bracket for that.
Here is where it gets tricky. In the box of all of the linkages and loose parts, there is one of the shift levers missing. I can not find a picture of it in either the parts book or the shop manual.
Also missing is the Kickdown Switch and the Overdrive Relay. I suspect the relay is pretty generic.
Here are my questions:
Does anyone have the side mounted shift lever either to sell, or to lend me to make a copy?
Does anyone have the kickdown switch, and also where in the heck does it mount? A picture would be incrdibly helpfull. I suspect that it could also be made up from available parts.
Lastly, looking for the Overdrive Relay, and where it is supposed to mount?
Thanks Guys,
Tim
