This is the inside edge of the tail gate end of the sides. I welded 2" x 3/16" angle iron to the edge. The gate will close up against the 2x4 end edge and latch & hinge at that point. There will be another hinge/latch below on the bottom of the tail gate. I will place another small plate below this flat part above the tires. It will have bends to match the bed all the way to the bottom and tie into the frame rail side plus bolt into the bed. It will also support the Hoist that goes on this end of the bed.
