Sounds like you are as judgmental as Franz.

But maybe the real problem is that old curmudgeons get 'old curmudgeonly', before they die? The stress of old age? Or the wisdom, they want to share their viewpoints? The expectation of impending doom?

I'm not saying they all had advance notice of a terminal disease. Just that once you confront your own mortality, you get an attitude? Just realizing you are not immortal chances you presentation?
