Today I have finally reserved to myself that I’m no longer a young man. It’s no big thing, but it has changed my way of thanking. My grandparents lived far into the mountains of eastern Kentucky. They could be the poster card of poverty, hound dogs on the porch, etc. At the same time they were in need of nothing. Now it seems everything must be new and shinny. But I know in my heart this is not so. Excuse me I am rambling.
In 2001 I brought a new Tundra 4x4 extended cab truck. This has been a hard worked truck. But in 16 years I have upgraded the front rotors, replaced the battery twice, replaced tailgate handle, and two oxygen sensors and done regular maintenance. Now I have a bad converter, a whop whop sound in my drive train, clear coat peeling, lots of scratches and dings, and 150000 miles. My wife god bless her heart says go get a new one. So off I go to shop for a new truck, the more I look the madder I get. They are all 50.000 plastic sissified pieces of total crap. None of which I can do my own work on. But they are new and shinny.
Here is where I need your opinions. I am retired now and will no longer work a truck hard, and a sissified truck would sure feel good on by bones, but I hate them and their price. So the 63000 dollar question, do I go new or go classic with a few nice upgrades. Seems simple to most but I assure you it’s not for me. Please respond nicely, I’m old remember. LOL
