Why not just go with a period correct methylhydrate bubbler on the compressor intake like Brockway, Mack, Federal and American LaFrance did in the 50s Willy? Bendix hadn't invented the Overpriceomatic back then.

Of course if you insist on descant you can do that with 2" pipe, a couple stainless choreboy sponges and Kitty Litter (silicagel).

Your intake air should be at minimal humidity in winter to begin with so very little water should accumulate in your tank.

Leaving the tank empty when not in use will also eliminate a lot of problems.
