I'd be more concerned the closer it is to the engine. Down near the muffler shouldn't jack it up too badly.
My only reasoning behind this suggestion is that it can cause issues and it seems to be happening pretty quickly but not immediately. The exhaust is the only component that'll warm up appreciably in a minute or two.
