The spindle itself is good, and it's possible that the first nut would hold torque. But where the outer nut rides, the threads are basically 1/2 gone. From the looks of it, the nut was crossthreaded all of the way down- when I took it off after the rear arrived (it came with drums, hubs and axles), the outer nut just spun instead of backing off. I had to use a pick and slowly "walk" it out while turning it. I have a spare offset housing that I was going to sacrifice for someone cut one of the tubes and weld onto the other housing, but Moser Engineering even said they wouldn't touch it. It CAN'T be that hard, but without a 9-5/8" rear-specific jig, I can understand why they won't do it. Offroaders do their own all of the time with no issues, and I don't see why someone couldn't TIG up the area with mild steel and rethread it.
