Transition from metal clad wood frame cabs in that time frame made it a hell of a lot cheaper to buy cabs than to design and build cabs for a hand built limited production run company like FWD or Brockway or Oshkosh. As I recall Brockways final production cabs still had lift out wood floorboards in the cab.
FWD and Oshkosh chose to take the money a new in house made cab was going to cost and buy production run cabs instead so the money could go elsewhere in the company.
