Just fixed those bushings on my 91 did the same thing on Thanksgiving day while driving to relatives in a serious rain put new bushings in. Dodge used the same bushings in all trucks from 72 to 91 in the windshield wiper linkage. No problems smooth as silk now and quiet. Pain to install and I got them at a Dodge dealer. He had a lot on hand.
