Best thing to do is talk with a local welding shop or welding supply store. You want rod that that can be applied with oxy/act torch similar to brazing. You heat the metal to a dull red, then melt the tungsten over the surface similar to how brass rod is applied. Tractor repair shops can direct you to shops that do it, it's applied to the leading edge of plows to reduce wear. If you can weld, you can do it. If any grinding is required after welding, it takes a very fine grinding wheel to cut it, normal wheels just bunch off the tungsten.
