Solder has melt points from 450° to 1400°- above i400 is brazing.
Brass to copper is easy, BUT, you need to fence the joint area off with whiteout because the flux will carry the solder way past where you want it.
IF you can get complete cleaning, then dunk the part or drown it with muriatic acid OUTSIDE, you should be able to solder the handle back on with 90/10 and it will survive.
