New 1-ton advice, help

I am looking at a 2016 new 1 ton 4x4 dodge dually. The Bride has given the green light to get it, but, this will be my last truck. I will also have to work 2 more extra years till I retire. How is this truck? Please give me straight up answers.
The engine is a 6.7 turbo diesel (Cummins) with a 6 speed transmission. It is has an exhaust brake.
The last diesel truck I had was a 2000 Ford, and it spent most of it's life in the shop, so I am a little gun shy of diesels.
Thanks for any help. The truck I have now is a 2003 Ford F250 with a V10 that runs great, has 126,000 miles, and no payments.
